Hey BSA Scouts ages 13-17, have you ever wanted to learn to Scuba Dive and earn a ScubMerit Badge while you are at it? Are you headed to Sea Base and want to be certified by the time you get there? Are you interested in earning a passport to the final frontier? Now is your chance. Family Dive Club is offering two Sessions of Open Water Scuba Camp in June 2023. Each camp provides you an opportunity to satisfy all the requirements to earn a PADI Open Water Scuba Certification, Scuba Merit Badge and Scuba Reward. Camp is not for everybody. It requires a strong desire to learn to scuba dive, a mature disposition, strong swimming skills, a willingness to work hard, and a positive attitude. If this sounds like you, then we invite you to sign up for an adventure of a lifetime. If the camp fee is too much for your family, we invite you to apply for a scholarship. The scholarship application window will run from January 26, 2023 to March 15, 2023. If you are not quite old enough for Teen Scuba Camp, then check out our Ocean Adventure Camp for kids ages 8-11. It’s a blast. We hope to see you and your friends next summer.
This sections provides detailed application information. Thanks to the generous donation of an adult Eagle Scout, we have eight scholarships to Open Water Scuba Camp available exclusively to BSA participants.
The window to submit a COMPLETED application ends at 10:00PM MARCH 15, 2025.
There are six parts to the application:
1. Complete the application form (see form link below).
2. Submit a $35.00 application fee.
3. Submit a 30 second to 1 minute video.
4. Submit an essay

The process will be equitable and unbiased. There is an application fee of $35.00. If you are awarded one of the BSA Camp Scholarships, there will be an additional $65.00 camp registration fee.

The application fee can be sent via Venmo to @familydiveclub or by check. If check is preferred, please contact us at 205-249-2267 or email dina@familydiveclub.com for details on where to send a check.
Please Email a thirty second to one minute video introducing yourself including personal fun facts, hobbies, interests, etc. to dina@familydiveclub.com

Have two people submit the recommendation form included in the button below. You can send them the link. One should be from a teacher and one should be from a current Boy Scout Leader. If your parent is your Scout Leader, you will need to find an alternate Scout Leader. Parents can not do your recommendation form.
Ask a school counselor or registrar to email a current report card to dmarble@asfa.k12.al.us. The subject line should read, “BSA Scout Scholarship: your name”. If your counselor wants to include a transcript, that is fine but we need the final report card from December.
